ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL SIEM
REAP
Arrival in Siem Reap,
greeted and transferred by our tour guide to your hotel and free time to rest.
In the afternoon, your car will pick you up at the hotel and you will go with
your guide for a tour of the city and its markets. You will visit the '' Les
Artisans d'Angkor, '' school workshop or Khmer youth to learn the fine
crafts such as wood carving, stone, lacquer. You will see explanatory models of
their collections more traditional lines to the latest innovations with
Khmer-style design. Back to hotel and dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 2: KITCHEN COURT - ANGKOR WAT
After breakfast, enjoy
4 hours of cooking classes with our professional chef and taste your culinary
creations in a friendly Khmer. In the afternoon, you will go to the Angkor site
and start with a visit to Angkor Wat, the Khmer temple the most perfect, the
most balanced and harmonious. It shows Khmer art at his peak in the 12th
century. The temple is a temple mountain built by King Suryavrman II. You will also
ascend the hill of Phnom Bakheng and can enjoy the sunset over Angkor Wat and
West Baray. Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 3: BANTEAY SREI - MUSEUM OF MINES
Breakfast at the hotel
and departure by private vehicle with your guide, it is 40 Km from Siem Reap to
visit the temple of Banteay Srei, beautiful little temple considered one of the
most beautiful temples of Cambodia. In continuation, you will visit the
landmine Museum and Banteay Samre, built in the 12th century. Return to Siem
Reap and lunch at a local restaurant in the city. Free in the afternoon and dinner
with traditional dance show at the restaurant. Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 4: PREK TOAL - BIRD
SANCTUARY
This morning you need
to get up earlier and depart from the hotel at 6.00AM to Tonle Sap lake to get
to the bird sanctuary Preak Toal. The trip will last between 1:00 to
1:30 hours to cross the lake and the flooded forest Preak Toal. Breakfast is served with box on the boat.
After registering with local environmental station (Ministry of Environment),
you will board the boat to glide on the water courses to bird sanctuary. The
rest of the morning will be devoted to bird watching on the water and the lake.
Climb the towers where the rangers monitor the colonies and enjoy this unique
place to see birds. Lunch with fresh fish from the flooded forest cooked by the
villagers will be served in a home or on the boat. The afternoon, visit the
floating village of Preak Toal and you will discover different aspects of the
daily life of the site, crocodile breeding, fish farming, traditional medicine,
garages vessels, floating shops, floating schools, etc. In the late afternoon,
return to Siem Reap. Enjoy a traditional hour massage at your hotel to relax
before dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 5: SIEM REAP - PHNOM PENH
After breakfast, depart
by private car (without guide) to Phnom Penh (314 km, 6 hours drive across three
provinces: Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham and Kandal). Arrive in Phnom Penh and
transfer to your hotel. Afternoon, free time. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
DAY 6: CITY TOURS
After breakfast, depart
for a tour of the capital. You will start with a sacred site called Wat Phnom
on the only hill of the city, and go to see the monument of independence. In
the afternoon, you will go to the National Museum which is exposed admirable
collections (bronze, bas-reliefs from the temples of Angkor, jewelry, weapons,
Palanquins, various currencies and ceramics). Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 7: PHNOM PENH - TREK IN CARDAMON MOUNTAINS
After breakfast, depart
from Phnom Penh with your guide by private vehicle for a trip of four hours to
the village of Doung And Tuk. Arrival at the Village you will take a second
breakfast with a sandwich before boarding a boat (2 hours ride) going upriver
Preak Piphot and lead you in the ecotourism community in the village of Chi
Pat. On arrival, check into guest houses and lunch. In the afternoon, you will
go with a local guide for a walk (about 2km) to the waterfalls of Chrey Chhay
or you can swim and relax. In continuation, you will join motorcycle to the nursery
reforestation project (approximately 3km) you visit. You will receive all the necessary information to understand the
project and planting a tree which will be delivered and thereby contribute to
the conservation of forests Cardamon. You will end the day by joining
motorbike, mountain back to watch the sunset (about 3 km from the town). Back
in Chi Pat by motorcycle. Night in guest houses.
DAY 8: CHI PHAT -
DAMNAK KHOS - VEAL TRAPRAK POND
Morning departure by
bike towards the Stoeng Prat river or you will embark on a traditional boat to
watch the sunrise, you can observe migratory birds along the river. Breakfast
on the boat. Arrival at Domnak Khos, begin trekking to Ta Prak Veal with a
local guide. Lunch O'Chonleas Pran (river of refugees) and continue hiking up
Antong Prang. In the evening, walk near the pond Veal Ta Prak trying to spot
wild animals viennenty drink, and back to the campsite where you will have
dinner made by local chef. Overnight camping.
DAY 9: VEAL TRAPRAK POND - O'KEY - O'MALU
This morning starting
at 5:30 am, you will go near the pond Ta Prak trying to spot wild animals back
to camp to take breakfast made by the local chef. You will continue hiking up
the bifurcation Veal Ta Prak and take the path that leads to the village of
O'Key and lunch (made by the local cook), and visit the mountain community and
waterfalls of O'Malu, or you can swim and relax. Dinner and overnight camping
O'Malu.
DAY 10: O'MALU - COMMUNITY CHI PHAT
Breakfast at camping
O'Malu or O'Kay prepared by local chef. Starting for trekking back to Chi Phat at
the time of your convenience. Arrival in Chi Phat for lunch. After lunch you take
a shower and relax in the guest house. Dinner and night in Chi Phat.
DAY 11: CHI PAT - KOH KONG
After breakfast, you'll
leave the community of Chi Pat and continue your journey by private car in the
direction of Koh Kong. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful landscapes. Lunch
packed and prepared by the community of Chi Pat. On the way to Koh Kong, you
will stop and ascend a boat for a short ride to the village of Tatai where you
will discover a beautiful resort hotel floating on the river on the edge of the
Cardamom mountains. Return to the starting point of the boat and onward travel
to Koh Kong. Overnight at hotel in Koh Kong.
DAY 12: KOH KONG - YMIP KRASOAP
After breakfast, visit
Peam Krasoap Wild life Sanctuary. This sanctuary, which still contains large
and dense mangrove forests, was established in 1993. It is one of 23 protected
areas in Cambodia. You will venture deep into a large mangrove forest, an
ecosystem that you will never find elsewhere. Lunch on the boat. In the
afternoon, return to hotel and free time. Overnight in Koh Kong.
DAY 13: KOH KONG - CHAM
YEAM / HAT LEK FRONTIER - BANGKOK
After breakfast, free
time until transfer to the border of Cham Yeam / Hat Lek. After completing
immigration and customs formalities, you are welcomed and greeted by your Thai
driver and transfer to Bangkok airport for your return flight.
